How do I find out what transmission model does my 1999 ford taurus 3.0 dual-overhead cam has in order for me to buy a the speed sensor?

Yes but they need to know if it's an AX4N or AX4S

The AX4N has 19 bolts to retain the fluid pan. Have some one count how many bolts hold the fluid pan on the bottom of the trans. if there are 19 bolts it's an ax4n

The ax4s: The transaxle pan on this model will sometimes read "AXOD Metric" since it's based on the AXOD transaxle. The data plate code for this transmission is "L."

Ok thanks. I guess the nest stop is a transmission place so the can tell me how many bolts. lol

Just get one of your friends to climb under the car and count them. Lol

Look on the data plate on driver's side door. The code under "TR" (transmission), should be L or X. The L=AX4S X=4F50N (AX4N) If that is not totally confusing for you.

Hi Calvin. Similar but a 1993. My data plate under "TR" says "LGGYY" Is that also the AX4S tranny?
