Removing my back window

Asked by gubben1 Mar 23, 2007 at 02:41 PM about the 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Question type: General

Can I remove my back window without taking off the top ?   The zippers don't seem to be "releaseable" ?   There was no helpful info in the owner manual I bought at Auto Zone.
Thanks,
Gubben1

I think that was a feature that wasn't available for the 99. It was an improvement they made for the newer models.

Wrong, I have owned a 1995,1998, and a 04 wrangler, all of them had a removable back window, all the windows have to be removed to put the top down properly If it is a factory top, yes. Unzip it from the passenger side to the driver side and it should come off.

yeah it can be removed but you can also just roll it up and there should be snaps to hold it

yeah if you unzip it from the passenger side to the driver it should come free. I have a '99 with a factory top as well. My only problem is that I can't get the zipper to work all the way. Keeps wanting to split.
