Starter Replacement Procedure

Does the slave cylinder have to be removed to
replace the starter on a 1991 Chevy Silverado
1500 single cab with a 5.7L 350 and 5 speed
manual transmission?

you tell me- sounds like an inconvenient way to stuff an engine compartment- but with GM, nothing would surprise me-

My truck is a 93 1500 manual do i need to take of the slave cylinder?

The slave cylinder is in the way and it's on the passenger side there's not enough room to even get on the bolt any suggestions

Nope only thing that can get there is a rachet wrench like it sits but you still have to take the slave cylinder out to move it out of the way of the starter to get it out

No it does make it more difficult but no you don't. And the starter/slave cylinder setup IS on the passenger side of my '92 with the slave cylinder sitting directly below the starter. I actually broke my slave cylinder when the starter slipped out of my hand and dropped on it. That slave cylinder was plastic and the replacement was metal.
