***NOVICE***

Hey I've got a 93 K1500 5.0 V8. Started idling rough about a week ago,
would sometimes stall at stop lights. RPM would drop as low as 500.
Replaced the fuel filter at the suggestion of a knowledgeable friend, didnt
solve the problem.

Two days ago I had a no start situation. Engine would crank, but no start.
Fuel pump seems to be working. When put into accessory mode the FP
relay clicks, the fuel pump can be heard humming through the gas cap.

Today It managed to start. But it only runs for about a minute before she
dies. There's what I think is blue smoke. Its rich smelling, almost sweet?
Checked the spark plugs, and there's oil on them. Am I trending in the right
direction? Is this a situation that can be rectified by replacing seals and all
spark plugs?

Bear in mind I'm quite green to all things automotive, I hope y'all can bear
with me so I can get my baby back on the road.

Oil on plugs is not good. How many miles on the engine? The sweet smell makes me wonder if you are getting coolant into the engine via a bad head gasket.

Check to see if you are getting water in the engine oil or oil in the coolant. If the truck has white smoke when running the problem could be a leaking head gasket.

Yep, white/grey smoke. There seems to be coolant in the oil, but its a little tough to tell since the coolant is a bit old.
