Question type: Maintenance & Repair

97 accord (vtech) has been lurching while in drive around 45-60 MPH.  It doesn't happen
every time but frequently. Any thoughts?.

is this a California or EPA smog intensive car? would first think to the EGR valve which combines exhaust gas with the intake gasses to bring down N0X emissions, but makes the engine perform poorly if it is not adjusted correctly or has a carboned-up EGR valve, which you could disassemble and clean with brake fluid...if you've got one~....the other thing is these devices are controlled from vacuum lines which if cheap butyl rubber will go soft, or hard and split, and are pretty much no good...I'd replace the black rubber vacuum lines with indestructable leakproof silicone rubber lines like the kind BMW uses off the factory floor~
