03 Honda Element Rough Idle

Asked by JustinWM Feb 03, 2016 at 05:32 PM about the 2003 Honda Element EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi Guys, My 2003 Honda Element began
to have a rough idle and when I would start
it up it started to act as if the battery dying.
The check engine light came on next so
took it to the parts store to have it
scanned. Came back 1 miss firing and 3
miss firing so I went ahead and replaced
the spark plugs and reset the engine light.
Check engine light came back on so went
back to the store for a scan and came
back the same 1 miss firing and 3 miss
firing so bought 2 ignition coils and
replaced them. The engine light came back
on and the rough idle is still there and
getting worse. So what's next, dirty fuel
injectors or a bad or dirty IACV? Could
really use your Help. Thanks

start by changing all the plug then if that does not work check you vacuum lines.

I did change all the plugs and the ignition coil only on 1 and 3 which were miss firing. The vacuum hose looks fine and seem to be connected correctly. I don't have any way of testing for any leaks.

spray starting fluid over the engine and if their is a leak it will suck in that ether and rev up
