I have a 2001 Ford Escape

My suv will only work in reverse! When I put into Drive, L1, or L2 it just idles and rpms go
up. Has anyone else had this issue? It drove just fine, until one day while driving it just
started revin' up. And wouldn't go. If had this issue did you replace the whole
transmission? Please help.

a trans shop can circuit test, a shift solenoid failed would do this. along with some other things.

Where is a cheap but reliable shop in or near DeSoto, MO? Can we just take the trans to them?
