I have a brand new 2014 dodge journey and the front struts make a knocking sound over little bumps. My previous Journey did not do this. I have taken it to the dealer and they find nothing wrong.

Question type: General

I have a brand new 2014 Dodge Journey.  I previously had 2011 Journey.  My problem is that I only have 300 miles and the front struts make a knocking sound over little ripples in the roadway.  They are noisy and have taken back to the dealer and they find nothing wrong.  I have a 2009 loaner Journey and it is very quite, no knocking at all..  Any one have any suggestions?

Get a second opinion, nothing should be knocking!! Then, when you are confident that the noise truly is an unusual knocking, take it to the dealer, then if unsatisfied with the dealer contact the Company directly.

By second opinion I merely mean to get someone else to verify your feeling that the noise is unusual. Then you will be extra confident that you are right and that will bolster your resolve to not let the dealer hood-wink you.

Tom - that is possible but if you can't get your dealer to treat you properly then I think he should be reported directly to the Company. Another dealer will be glad to service you but will he report the first dealer to the Company.Bad shops have to be made to become good shops or have their franchise removed if they don't treat the public with respect and professionalism.
