You might be able to get a $2-3 screw clamp? Or maybe they can weld it. I would hope for a $10-20 bill verses 40 (but no more than 40 for sure) and I would ask up front. Like Tom said, don't let them act like it's a huge concern and that your exhaust needs replacing. That'll run easily 250- 400+ depending on parts and labor.
