ford ranger won't go into gear

1984 ford ranger v6 automatic 2wd
shift into any gear and it will not engage at all. checked the fluids and the level, color, and
smell all seem to be as they should. cracked transmission lines going into radiator and
nothing comes out, which leads me to believe its a bad pump.
anything else it could be and is it worth replacing just the pump
