What could cause the dash instruments to stop working?

About: 1995 Dodge Dakota 2 Dr SLT 4WD Extended Cab SB

When I bought the truck the dash lights, speedometer, gas gauge, temperature gauge all worked. Headlights didn't work properly (wouldn't stay on) I got the headlights working and all the dash gauges stopped working.  Most important is the gas gauge.
Does anybody have a copy of the wiring diagram for the dash or any clue on why it would stop working?
