How does the anti-theft work on the 1996 ES model?  Is there a button to turn it on and off?

I believe the Intrepid ES uses a sentry-key system, meaning there is an RF chip in the key. If not, and you have keyless entry, you will have a lock button which, when pressed twice, locks and arms the system. There isn't a button to "turn it off" as far as overall function, but you can choose not to arm it by only pressing the lock button one time on your keyless remote. If it has the Sentry Key system, you cannot turn it off at all.
