i have a 1987 D21- in fact when the turn signals quit working it was the hazard switch [contact corrosion]. I didn't consider it part of the circuit, but is was...

The brake light circuit is in fact tied directly to the hazard switch. A faulty hazard switch can and will cause problems for left turn, right turn, four-way hazard, AND brake light functions. I'm currently dealing with this exact issue in my 1985 Nissan 720.

nissans have cluth switch under the dash on the clutch pedel itcould be bad and not allowins starter to work
