I have just bought a 66 gto convertible with a paint code of 12 and cant find this anywhere. Any help would be great

My 66 GTO data plate looks very similar to yours. Mine also has the 12 in the same location as yours. But the 12 isn't the body paint color, I don't know what that 12 means, I haven't been able to figure it out. The body paint color should be a letter, or two letters. My car is still painted its original color, Candelite Cream, which is a Y paint code. I found the Y down next to the right data plate rivet, like the machine that was creating the data plate moved to the next line or something.
