Check Engine Light & Gas Cap Indicator

Asked by rgs7557 May 29, 2015 at 12:01 PM about the 2013 Hyundai Accent GS 4-Door Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light along with the gas cap light came on while I was driving. I pulled over and reset the gas cap. The gas cap indicator went out, but the check engine light is still on. Will this automatically reset, or do I need a mechanic? It has been two days so far and the indicator is still on. Thanks

Thank you.I have 2006 Hyundai Accent. I have the problem of Engine check light. I have already changed PCV valve, get one coil changed and sparkplug changed. Engine tuned and injector cleaned. But the light does not go.Then I went to another garage who got a code indicating small leak in EVAP emission system. Then I changed gas cap (Not a Hyndai Parts).. After that light gone. But it reappeared after a week. I took it to dealer. They found P0300,P0301 and P0304.So they changed 3 coil pack. But after 3 days it reappeared. I doubt it is the problem of gas cap .Should I try again by replacing with Hyundai original Parts.I doubt it appears whenever my gas level in my gas tank goes low.

How many times do you turn the gas cap to click on a 2004 Hyundai Elantra? I was told only once but heard to turn it 2 or 3 clicks?
