I was told my passenger side reverse light stays on while in drive down the road..why

I recently installed a reverse back up camera in my elantra from
autozone. The driver side reverse light only comes on while in reverse,
however a buddy as behind me and said he saw the passenger side
reverse light was on while driving behind me. ?.what gives. I wired them
the same identical way. ?

re check the instructions, you say, you wired them the same way, you shouldn't have to wire them both at all , just a one wire feed to camera I would think
