I cannot get my oil cap off

My car is due for an oil change and the oil on the dipstick is a little low.  I went to add oil and cannot get the cap off, any suggestions

pliers, screwdriver and hammer (tap at angle)

The engine was warm. I contacted the dealership and they said it may be some sort of vacuum if the oil is low. Going in for a change in a few days. Thanks for the answer.
