2005 Dodge neon stuck in 2nd gear

I have 2005 dodge neon sometimes when I start my car it takes a couple of seconds to
start, also when this happens it has trouble going past 2nd gear and won't go over 60mph
when I try to go over 60 or past 2nd gear it'll jerk it self

Mine does this and I just remove negative battery cable for a couple minutes,and it resets the computer. Should work for a bit.

In & out sensors on transmission should fix it. Both sensors are around $20 a piece
