Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2012 SRX Premium w/Navigation. Can the new CUE system be added to it as an upgrade. If it is possible, is this a Cadillac dealer add-on? Thanks.

In order: Yes (if you got enough bucks you can do most anything) and no ..., but, why? If you got the bucks, buy a '13 with Que.

Bobkat, After checking my resources, I was unable to find any information regarding adding CUE to your Navigation system. I would suggest contacting your local Cadillac dealership to ask. Vanessa GM Customer Service

I'm not the OP, but I'm in the same boat. Depending on the price, adding Cue to a 2012 SRX might be far less than the cost of getting out of a 2012 & into a 2013. I generally hang onto cars for at least 5 years. I like my 2012 SRX just fine. The 2012 radio reception is one of the few things that I'm not fond of. If I could get that remedied for a reasonable cost, it would make more sense than eating the 1st year depreciation.

I would think that screwing around with your electronics, and you would be, may invalidate (or at least cause) warranty and resale, trade-in issues . Issues that could be more expensive than depreciation . We are NOT talking about just sticking in a Blaupunkt radio in a '69 VW here.

Stipulated. Which is why I wouldn't even attempt it outside of an authorized service center (most likely a Cadillac dealer). I just got off the phone w/ my Cadillac dealer's service manager. He said that while he hasn't specifically asked, he doubted that Cadillac/GM tech support would give them any guidance whatsover in doing a retrofit.

We have a 2013 SRX. The last thing you would want to do to a 2012 is to add the CUE system. It is incredibly non-intuitive, I often have to pull ove on the side of the road to change radio stations or co adjust climate control. Further, when it goes to the dealer they usually upgrade the software for one reason or another....which changes some of the graphics (just when you were getting used to them!) and also deletes your personal settings ....so you have to start over. And speaking of having to pull over to change the FM radion stations, plan to do it often as the car has very poor FM reception as compared to the other cars I own. We love driving this Cadillac.....whith the exception of the CUE system and the FM radio reception. Knobs on the dash would be preferred, and will be in the next premium car we buy.

we drove a loaner 2013 while our 2012 SRX was in the shop - I think I tend to agree with jmcott. The 2012 Nav sytem with all its features seems easier to use than the new CUE system.

I have a 2014 CTS lux w/o Navigation. Can this car be upgraded with a CUE system with Navigation as an upgrade, or can the programing be upgraded that navigation can work with the cue system that is in it now? Thanks.
