how do open up the truck to get to the battery ?when the battery is not working

you can just drop down the back seat and reach into the trunk and pull on the emergency handle minside and the trunk will pop open

Yes put the key in the driver's side door handle and unlock the door. To get into the trunk fold down rear seat and pull the safety latch in the trunk under the trunk lid. Hopefully there is not a lot of junk in there to get to the safety latch. You can also open the front hood and boost the battery from engine bay. Good luck
