Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Looking to buy a 2012 Ram Quad Cab. 23,000 miles but shows 1,135 hours. Seems high? What would you consider "normal"? Thanks - Chuck

Depends entirely where you live and what kind of driving you do. Your numbers work out to an average speed of just over 20 mph. If you do a lot of stop and go city or let it idle that's a reasonable number. Were as I live in the country and need a minimum of 12 miles at 60 mph to get there or 23 to the larger town. My average is 32 mph.

Thank you very much for the answer. I won't hold the hours against it then. I like the truck, great shape, color, & equipped as I want - probably buy it. Speaking of buying, if we ever meet - I'll buy the beer. Thanks again - Chuck

Is it the Quad or the Crew. You should be able to argue a lower price to get the quad. Most peep want the larger back seat. Mines the '10 2500 crew powerwagon and it has a huge backseat. Nice for the kids in the child seats. They can't kick the back of my seats? Mines thirsty though no MDS on the pre-14 HD's. The half tons are nice. '12 is a six speed with the mds. Should be really good on fuel. Were starting to get a few hemi's at work with the 8 speed and they are amazing on fuel. The Dial shifter is a little wierd though.

I went with 6 gas mileage is great if you are sitting in traffic or cruising the road 16 to 24 a mile think 6
