Try disconnecting the battery for half an hour. That will clear the codes. Hopeful it won't return.

I too own a CX7 and the DPF warning light is flashing. i've had it inspected by my local mazda dealer and we have been told the timing chain is stretched and out of tolerance. This needs to be replaced at a cost of £500 but are assured this will solve the problem. Seems a bit strange as the car has only done 40000 miles with a full Mazda service history.

Same as mine but my dpf warning light is still flashing and mpg has dropped from regular 39mpg to around 30mpg..my garage who had just renewed engine oil and filter are now telling me it needs new timing chain and this may possibly put the light out.. £785 for new chain..they also tell me the mpg has reduced because the ecu is constantly trying to 'remap' cx7 with 73000 2010 now needs new home !!

We recently sent our car to Mazda as wasn't start I g only on and off told us we needed a new Fuel injection oh.p as my husband lives the car we had it done . Now the car is worse than when it went j to garage engine management light came on a day or so after d of light which means we can not do as we was told. Which is to burn of the blockage in the bitter by driving it for 25mjns good st 60 more. Thus is impossible as the car has gone into limp mode . We had engine reset if that's the right phrase but still not joy after half hour lights came back on . It's s m7stry even garage are confused. Anyone have any ideas please

We were in Spain when ours started having problems, took it to Valencia Mazda and on getting it back we tried to drive home, got as far as the border with France when it went into limp mode, sent it to nearest Mazda agent in Gerona they recouped our 3k cost for the engine work including a new timing chain. Two years later my PDF light is flashing the last mechanic said change your oil which he did and the light was turned off he stated it was the muck in the oil that got it flashing again.I am about to change the oil but haven't a clue how to turn the error codes off I think you can buy a gizmo for £200 and link it to a lap top but its cheaper to sell the car.
