the 2010 has a 3900 v-6 that can take flex-fuel(ethanol mix). 2009 is not bad, if u get it at around 18-20k it is a bargain. are u going to keep the car a longtime? the discounts will make it worthwhile. in the city, it only gets 19mpg... heavy car. the car gets 24-28 mpg highway and is built well. i like the car's handling; it feels solid. the car is easy to service too.

the fuel economy of both 2009 lucerne and 2010 lucerne are the same. both of them give 17 mpg on city streets and 26 mpg on highways. http://www.buick-lucerne.com/
