Took the 2009 saturn aura to autozone and they said it was a bad ECM. what is that and how much
am i looking at to pay

The ECM is the engine control module. It is the brain of the engine. I don't know the cost. You could check RockAuto.com, ebay and scrap yards for a used unit.

RIght, used are cheaper and work just as good. But I wouldn't take some autozone techs word 100% that it needs replacing. Have your mechanic look at for a second opinion.

Do you have the I4 or V6?

What trouble code(s) did you get? Chances are if the ECM was bad the car would be running VERY poorly or not at all. HTH. -Jim
