Remote start won't work

Asked by Kandi Dec 29, 2015 at 09:39 PM about the 2009 Pontiac G6 GT

Question type: General

I just bought the car and had to change the battery
in the remote start but my alarm and trunk are the
only 2 things that work on the remote. How can I
get my lock/unlock to work and the remote start

It will need to be reprogramed to work with the car, which might need to be done by the dealer or locksmith. Heres a link that might help. http://www.g6ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3488

as Michael stated, you will have to reprogram your remote transmitter again. Any after market car installers should know or have the manual for it. (its very easy to do so if you end up going there, just ask them how to do it) Usually you will be able to find a free manual to download online. Just type in your model number for your remote device.

You can reprogram it yourself in the G6. Go through the options on your radio. You can set it to turn remote start off and on. As well as settings for the doors to lock and unlock when you shift from lark to drive and drive to park. You can even set which doors you want it to unlock.
