I bought a 2009 Sonata Limited about three months ago and have an issue with the leather seats.  I've noticed that the only leather on the seats is where it comes in contact with your body ie. seat bottom, back and front of headrest.  The back and sides are NOT LEATHER.  My gripe is that shortly after we bought the vehicle, I have warn 4 small but noticeable holes in the side leatheresque portion of the driver's seat very near the stitching to the real leather.
My only memories of how this could have occured was when I wear work pants with buttons on the pockets that may have come in contact with the seat as I entered.  Surely to God there must be some durability issue that a simple button could ruin the look of a somewhat beautiful interior.
