should my starter solenoid be getting a voltage reading with the key not turned?

Question type: General

when I turn the key on I have power to the dash, but when i turn the ignition I hear nothing. I bench
tested the starter and it works. Any one have any suggestions?

yes on the big one it is wired to batt

check batt underload at parts store if you can if good also check the fuseable link it will be in your manual it might be on teh firewall mine is in my 1981 honda this one is burned up and needed replaced
