Have you checked your coolant level? Make sure engine is cool before you try to check it. Does temp raise when in start and stop traffic but cool down when you get to highway speeds? Or just hotter than normal all the time?

How is the coolant level? The thermostat could be going bad. Water pump? And so on. If all is good there are products that claim to disperse heat from the radiator. WETTER WATER is one that comes to mind.

As you drive it will raise a couple notches above the middle for a few min. then drop back to the middle while you are driving.

Wait on till it's cold then check the coolant level. If it's low remember the coolant is going somewhere.

All those guys absolutely know what they are talking about. All I am thinking is what you mean by 'slightly" if it is running here where I put the dot, I really wouldn't worry too much immediately. It should indeed be right in the middle, but do as they suggest click to size up

What about when your temp gage doesn't even go up to half but the car is completely hot with antifreeze in it.goes up to like the second line from the bottom and stays there the whole time even when car is very hot
