A/c bolws warm air for 3-5 minutes after start then it gets cold and works fine. Anyone know what could be wrong?

May I ask if this happens... gets cold finally...after you begin to drive and get up some speed? And when it does begin to work gets plenty cold? If it was low on R134a refrigerant gas it would not work after 5 minutes, it wouldn't at all. What I am getting at is air-flow through condenser. The part in front of radiator.... either fan not kicking on or condenser clogged with bugs, leaves, whatever. If this is the case have a look at the condenser and if it has a bunch of crap blocking the fins, the heat dissipation area, could be the problem. This happened to me one time, I drove through AZ, NM, TX, and by the time I got through LA and in to MS (in August) my A/C condenser and radiator were so full of bugs that my truck was starting to overheat and the A/C hardly worked at all. matter of air flow.

I agree with FordNut if dirt and bugs are restricting air flow across the fins of the A/C condenser coil can cause that problem but if you check it out and its not the problem the orifice tube filter on the inside of the high side line of the A/C system (this is the small line) maybe partially clogged. Will need to be replaced.
