My 2008 Chrylser T & C radio cycles off and on.

Asked by paycheck08 Sep 27, 2014 at 09:59 AM about the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The radio has back up camera, navigation, all the bells and whistles. We can't remember anything significant happening (i.e. battery change, fuses, etc) at the time this started. The radio will cycle off and on a couple of times a minute, sometimes longer some shorter. We have no control over the radio at all via touchscreen. Does something need to be reset? Is it internal?  Thanks for your help

Sounds like toast. I just never hear of fixes with these kinds of problems. You could try disconnecting the battery cable for 5 minutes. It's free and that's the closest to a reset you're going to get. I wouldn't imagine these units are cheap either. Sorry.

Yes I agree with tigair, its probably junk. 2008 was a bad year for the new bodystyle Chrysler vans. Try unhooking the battery, if that doesn't work you can replace the radio. I've done it to quite a few in the past. Its fairly easy to replace. There is a 3 digit code in the lower left corner of the radio face. Match that to one on Ebay. Just make sure its been bench tested and from a seller with a lot of positive feedback.
