My 2008 Ford Fusion SEL is on the bum again, if it ain't a light that comes on it's always something else

Yesterday I got in my car to go run some errands and brought my sister along.  The first 2 stops we made were good, I got out ok.  The third time I stopped at a store,  I could not open the driver's side door to save my life.  I could unlock and lock it with the key when I was outside.  My sister had to keep opening the door for me to get out.  What do you think the problem is, I can't take it nowhere unless I have a passenger with me cause I can't open the door.  HELP

The door handle has broken, the rod to it has come off or it is frozen. Take some penetrating oil and spray in the key hole and on the key and try it.
