the popping noise comes from engine compartment while sitting still and running and after sopped and engine dead. it just makes 1 hollow popping noise from engine compartment. not a body or suspension noise

My cousin had all kinds of problems with his 07 Altima. Just got off the phone with him. His timeing caused that same sound (kinda like that ) he said. To rich of a fuel mixture. Tim got rid of his in 2011. Hope that helps.
