How can you find out how many trucks exactly like mine were produced?

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport with a 4.7L and NV3500 5-speed, regular cab, 2 wheel drive, elec. blue ext. paint, and grey interior, no power windows, and I'm trying to find out how many were produced exactly like mine. I've tried the dealerships, but they don't know. I think it may be rare, as I've never seen another one like it, and I recently bought a tranny for it from Jasper, and the bolt holes were differant from what they thought it should be. When I gave them the production number off the case, they said it didn't exist, even though I was standing in front of it. If this is something rare, I'm gonna think twice about swapping in the core, to preserve the possibility of keeping a "numbers matching" truck. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You can try emailing Chrysler, but I wouldn't expect you to get anywhere with them.  The only production numbers I've ever seen for Dakotas are for the R/T's, and even then there is no break down for options, only colors, and only for 98-00 for the colors.

BTW That blue is called Intense Blue, one of my favs!
