Check for power at the brake pedal switch. If you have power there and the switch is good, look for a broken wire from the switch to the tail lights. If no power at the switch, check the fuses.

There is a fuse box under the hood for brake lights and tail lights and blinkers. Is it wired for a trailer hitch? It should be on the drivers side of the engine department

if checked all the fuses and replaced them as well replacing the switch for the brakes. the runner lights is working, it just doesnt work when im actually using the brakes itself..
