i smell gas when i turn off my 01 chevy tahoe and now my check engine light is on.

i dont see gas leaking and its none on the ground when i get out and look, i just smell strong gas odor
and i recently had a new fuel pump put on.

Evaporative emissions leak, get the code read its probably for an emissions leak. Find the leak and repair it.
