About: 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe Base
Towing an Airstream
i have a 2001 2wd Tahoe with the 4.3L engine. just bought a 1967 Airstream trailer, 4000 lb dry 24' tandem axle with electric brakes. two questions: (1) how do i find out what my rear axle ratio is? (2) what are some recomendations for pulling this trailer - shocks, weight-distributing hitch , trani cooler, etc........Thanks

1. to find out your axle ratio you could probably just call a dealer with your vin and they should be able to tell you.
2. yes, all of those would be good considerations. if you are looking to just a few times then you should be fine with what you've got but if it going to be more often you will want some upgrades.
