My kid put change in my steering wheel now while I'm driving it will cause the horn to honk. Is there a way to remove the horn cover safely, without involving the airbag?

I wouldn't suggest attempting this yourself, especially if you're a novice at auto repair related things. Take this rather unique problem to a mechanic instead and play it safe. Did your kid think your Tahoe was coin operated?? lol

Racer_X, i think the kid was investing for a quick turn around :)

As Racer_X said. Do not mess with the airbag. Airbags are very dangerous if you do not follow the proper procedure when working with them. Take it to a mechanic.

I didn't think it was actually possible to put coins into the horn section of a steering wheel, but after looking at the one on the Tahoe, I could see how a bored kid might accomplish this. After the spanking, perhaps you should think about getting him/her something to keep them occupied..Nintendo DS or something??
