Can't engage reverse lockout.

Asked by cjsperling Nov 12, 2013 at 11:15 PM about the 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Roll pin came out of reverse lockout lever on my 68 Shelby with 4 speed top loader.  Now I can't get to the lockout shaft.  Any suggestions how to pull the shaft back up so as to be able to engage the pin?

from interior, remove boot and surrounding trim, work from there that's about it as far as I know, alignment will still be a little tricky at that
