Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Ford Explorer, the fuel pump was replaced at a local garage however the low fuel light stays on, the gas guage stopped working and the display button will not allow you to select reset when i changed the oil so that stays on now too. What would cause this and how do i correct.

i tried that, he said he didn't know what was wrong with it and i could take it back in but it would cost me several more hundred dollars when ive already spent 600 replacing the fuel pump

The fuel level sender is part of the fuel pump module he replaced (See picture). I don't know why he would charge you to repair what he replaced? As for the oil life indicator, check the owner's manual for proper procedure.

sounds like 2 seperate problems. the repair shop may have not used a replacement module and just replaced the pump and the float for the gauge is now screwed up or they screwed up the rheostat. they already got you for $600., insist they fix it if it was fine before they worked on it.

Thank you everyone, as for resetting anything, I can't because the display button to get to the resetting of the oil life doesn't work now too so my manual is not any help, what could that be?
