You don't. Each time you start the car the SRS (airbag) computer performs a diagnostic check of the system. This is why the light flashes at first. If the system checks out ok the light stops flashing & goes off. If there's a problem the light will stay on steady to warn you that the system has been disabled because the computer found a problem.
