You can purchase a bypass kit and just replace the stereo and the rest of the factory system is functional . You can purchase the kit at any car audio installation place . Eazy peazy.

already know HOW to bypass......but I don't want to bypass....I want to replace with an earlier version that doesn't need the cockamamie can-bus to turn on....so again....where IS IT in the vehicle. So you answered an unasked question.

They hid it behind the rear, passenger side speaker. Remove the rear panel above the wheel well, remove the speaker and you'll see it. 3 10mm bolts hold it in place. Undo those and you can remove it through the speaker hole.

In a 2008 limited its behind the base box you have to remove the base box and it will be there

So where is the best place to wire amp up if you don't have the the premium sound system cuz I was hoping I could just use the wires that were from the regular amp Fender premium sound system for my new amp but now I can't do that
