I own a 2007 Jaguar X-Type 4 door sedan. It has the 3.0L 6 cylinder engine. It requires Premium fuel.

Question type: Car Customization

I was wondering how difficult it would be to convert / retrofit the engine to run a lower octane fuel, or even E85. I live in Michigan and E85 is the least expensive fuel, Premium is the most expensive.

You will NEVER EVER recover the conversion cost. Sell the Jaguar and buy a Hyundai.

It might be cheaper to move to a state like Kentucky or Tennessee where the 90+ octain gas is under $3.00/gal.
