gas pedal on 1988 fiero has 'flipped',

the accelerator / gas pedal flips up & seems broken.  need to fix it, but not sure where to start.  Any suggestions?  I am not a member of the forum.  please e-mail me == laura@flybynightinc.org.  thank you

small spring behind the pedal may have broken or come out of place,check behind the pedal.
