Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Kia is recommending that I get my Timing Belt changed at 60K.  Is that really necessary?  I was thinking around 70k or 80k

Kia has had a problem with them breaking - Get it done at 60k

I agree. $1,800 repair bill for timing belt loss and valve job because of it.

Yes, it is really necessary. It's not a thing to skimp on. Here's a video of how to on a 2005 V6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNBTgGQ6Qy8
