Jaguar will not accelerate

Asked by Jontravis Dec 31, 2014 at 08:17 PM about the 2003 Jaguar X-TYPE 2.5L AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the engine light is on and it will only do about 5 mph need to know what are the lights on
the dashboard one is red and the other is yellow dashboard lights up and reads fault in the
gear box also the car runs very bad

I had this problem, the dealer said I may need a new trans. I began by checking fuses, then reset the computer . Everything has been fine for over a year.

How did you reset your computer?and what if you have an aftermarket radio if thats where you have to reset

Most vehicles reset simply by disconnecting the battery for 5-30 minutes
