Regardless of the check engine light, you want to repair the crack properly and that's probably replacing the part. You do not want fuel vapors in the engine compartment breathing that in, and or creating a fire hazard. If after the replacement, see if the CEL goes out, if it's still on, scan for codes and proceed accordingly.
