we put fuel pump on it and now it wont start

Here's a trade secret: If it's not fuel it's fire Check everything that fires the gas and makes it run including timing

    my car started this morning and died now it wont start up just turns and trns but doesnt start up white smoke sometime comes out of the muffler and almost wants to back fire.ne info?
