electrical/ turn brake lamps

I have a 94 k1500. the headlight swithch went out and aftrer i replaced it my turn and brake stopped working. blowing fuses immediately. do i have a short or bare wire?

I would say yes to having a short circuit to ground. Check your wiring for pinched wires or maybe a one is touching metal at the switch.

Maestro I'm sorry about the delayed response to the message you sent me. I'm in the process of moving and haven't had time to do anything.

"Do they blow as soon as you insert them or do they blow when you hit the brakes or turn signal? If they are blowing immediately then one of the wires are shorted to ground most likely at the switch or in the column. I would bet it blew while putting it back together." That is the response I gave you the other day and it is pretty much identical to Tenspeed's.
