Head Bolt Torque
Asked by philwr03 Dec 29, 2008 at 09:31 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Reg. Cab 6.5-ft. Bed 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I just reinstalled my Vortec heads per specs. The final adjustments were degrees according to the length of the bolt. I understand this is for bolt stretch. But, being old school, is there a final torque that each bolt should be respectively?

I have reinstalled my heads and was advised to go 26, 44, 66 ft lbs for each pass. They have been on for about 3 months and seem to be doing ok. Any thoughts?
