What is the tow rating for a '98 Chevy C1500 XC SB, 305 cc, auto?

Plan on buying a travel trailer. Have gotten a wide variety on tow ratings for this
vehicle from 2000 - 7000 lbs.

Just call a Chevy dealer, they can tell you, Sometimes I have seen the toe rating in the glove box, above drivers visor, or on the drivers door or jam
